There's a few reasons why I wanted to become a chiropractor. First is the fact that both my parents were registered nurses so I always thought growing up I would have a career in the medical industry. Another reason started with a skate boarding accident I had when I was about 10 years old. After the accident I had to have multiple surgeries and extensive physical therapy. Then, when I was 17, I was in a very bad car accident and broke both my arms, leg and some fingers. Again, I had to have multiple surgeries and extensive physical therapy. ​After graduating high school I went to Wayne State University to take undergraduate science courses to become a physical therapist. That's when a couple of friends I went to high school with were home from chiropractic school, on break, and I got my first chiropractic adjustment. Thats when I knew I wanted to become a chiropractor.
